What this is
SupplyChain911 is a public board showing where the American industrial base is losing capacity and where its remaining capacity sits in too few hands. It is published by BOMForge, which indexes US manufacturers by capability, certification, material and place.
Why it exists
A plant closing is public. A capability narrowing to two states is not, because seeing it requires an index of who makes what and where. We hold that index, so we publish the second fact next to the first.
The board is deliberately free and open. The measurement that produces it is the product, and it lives at bomforge.com.
What it will not do
It does not rank companies, name a company as failing, or tell you a supplier is at risk. A WARN notice is a filing about a facility, not a judgement about a firm, and this board reproduces it as a filing.
Corrections
